Rule 1 is the lemmy.ml instance wide rule “officially” against bigotry, but unofficially and in practice, it’s their catchall Rule for any speech they don’t personally like i.e. speech critical of Russia/CCP/NK etc
I did a quick google search and all I got that it meant something like relaxing but somehow managed to be the next “ching chong”.
Does it have something to do with “bing” meaning “cold” or “ill” or something else (because the Roman characters are not telling the pitch) and chilling could be “chi ling” or is just chilling in cold or sth?
How does everything become a slur anyway?
Someday I might pick up the phone and say “Hello”, just to be called offensive.
It is precisely, exactly the same tactic as ‘any criticism of the actions of the Israeli government and/or Zionists that support them = you are a Jew hating antisemite.’

You see, criticism of China = sinophobia = bigotry = rule 1. Easy.
I got rule 1d for saying “BING CHILLING”
That was the entire comment.

I still fail to find it offensive, but I guess that’s my fault for not finding stuff not offensive when people are not trying to be offensive.
