It’s the same cliffhanger the book ended on. The show is following the books fairly well. Most changes are just to make it a better story for the screen.

That’s a bummer. I guess the book messed up then (or the show messed up the telling). The season 2 finale felt like a last minute rush after a season that took a long time to go anywhere.

Season 1 asked the question, what is outside? And then in the season 1 finale we get that answer, more silos.

Season 2 asked the question, what happened to the other silos? And while we get some idea, and the events of the original silo begin to mimic the other silos, setting up an interesting story where Juliette has to try and stop what she started, there is this last minute head of IT learning something so shocking he’s willing to leave.

I expect I’m going to learn at the start of season 3 what that was. I really don’t feel like spending a whole season on it since it feels like an extension of the original question, what happened in the other silos. And if I’m going to learn it immediately… Just tell me now.

(Also there is a question, did Juliette survive? Yes, they telegraphed that really well. Similar to her having the good tape being foreshadowed, the fireman suit was the same. So it’s not going to be a big shock. It’s not a between season kind of thing.)

Basically if season 1 ended with Juliette putting on the suit, that’s where it feels like season 2 ended.
