Second this, and all functionality worked over USB right out of the box. Didn’t have to config my Arch (btw) install at all. Literally plug and play. Easier than all the fiddling I had to do with windows.

I often get game choice paralysis, so I have extensively categorized my game library to help with both decision making, but also time management. I use numbers to force my categories to sort in the order I want rather than alphabetically by category name.

Also worth noting I only started doing this after I stopped playing an MMO and reclaimed whatever % of my life.

First is my “currently playing” category. This contains roughly one game from each other category/genre.

• A story driven RPG (Witcher 3 at the moment, the Metro series after)
• A rhythm game (McOsu, an Osu mod)
• An optimization/building game (Shapez 2 but maybe back to factorio soon)
• An action rougelike (going back to Hades before Hades 2)
• A deck builder (currently MTGA, but my group really wants to ditch WotC)
• A puzzle game (probably Blue Prince once it comes out)
• A dedicated indie game spot (the Cairn demo)
• A few other odd games that I like having quick access to because I like them

There is sort of a secret bonus game to this section, but it also sits outside of this system entirely, because I will ALWAYS go back to it. And that’s the “block game” category. For a long time this was various flavors of modded Minecraft, but I’m so fed up with Microsoft enshitifying my baby that I’ve jumped ship. I’m playing Vintage Story (also heavily modded) and it’s just a better game top to bottom in my opinion.

Then there is an “Interesred” category for games I’ve either been told I should try and also think I might enjoy. I try to keep this small, following roughly a similar “one per genre” as the previous category. I honestly don’t really touch these much, it’s more there for when a spot is freed up in the “currently playing” section. This is also where demos for unreleased games go.

Then there is a “favorite” and “liked” category which largely contain games I’ve played before or are intentionally hyper replayable. This has a lot of my favorite puzzle games, a lot of the various rogue likes with a different game as the core mechanic (think peglin and ballionaire) stuff like that. Basically things to sift through if none of my current games are sparking an interest.

After this is just genre categories used for storage essentially so I can collapse them and not be sick scrolling the whole list.

I have a decent amount of time to game, but also work a very physical job, so I need to be very into a game to prioritize it over sleeping and such.

I recently went through getting it to run on Linux. It’s one of the only Bungie games I haven’t played. Shockingly in depth combat, I’m enjoying it, but I’m bad at combo based fighting games, so I’m playing it in very bite sized pieces.

I randomly thought about converting all my “feeds” into RSS, but wasn’t really sure where to start. Stumbling across your post came at just the right time!! This is an awesome tool. Thanks for sharing!

I understood it all to mean, you get a layer of automation and triggers that can be used when you post to interact with data both within and beyond the scope of the actual social platform.

I’m not 100% sure this is accurate, but that’s what I got.

Any chance on getting more info about the hardware specifics? From the sounds and looks of it this is almost exactly the scale of what I’d like and running pretty much the same things I’m thinking interested in.

Ah good to know. I’m using Hyprland on my main device, but never even considered installing anything other than the default on the Garuda box.

Not immutable, but I slapped Garuda on a 2016 gaming laptop to give it a second life and it’s been great for the most part. I got a bit fiddly with it and had to fight my way through some partial upgrade issues, but know I arch based distros better and it’s stable as can be. I honestly don’t update it that often since it just serves are my TV box, and I’m seriously considering swapping to a Nix install now that I’ve mostly stabilized my package list for the purposes of gaming and video encoding. Proton is one of the only things I think get regular updates on that device, but those are entirely handled by Steam, so immutable is very attractive to me for a gaming only system.

I’ll also add that my primary device has arch on it and I do most of my gaming (but also work) there. It’s great, and I can’t help but feel a lot of the distros that are “made for gaming” suffer from a lot of the issues that windows does. They are trying to be preconfigured to work with any and all hardware. This leads to bloated package lists, and just extra guffins to work around as you trouble shoot. I’d say my arch install took a bit longer to get gaming super stable, but I’ve also had to fix much fewer issues compared to the Garuda install.

All the people mentioning Bazzite are making me eye it to replace Garuda tho.

I’ve integrated a Boox e-ink tablet with my Linux system using syncthing. Note taking is a treat and can be done right onto PDFs or e-books.

I know a bit of ASL and am learning more! That was my other thought for live captioning. I’d like to eventually get gesture based input working to, but that will be a dive into computer vision and all that. I’d still be interested in the name of that extension!!

Could I inquire what accessibility tools and software you use? I generally want to be well educated on these things, but I’ve been considering something like this for myself. Real time captioning software or something like that. I often have headphones or earplugs in for sensory reasons. Even gaming sometimes I’d prefer to not have to hear discord and still communicate with people.

Has been very refreshing to use. It’s a bit slow, and you need to do a captcha periodically because they get hella bot spam. It’s got a clean interface, no sponsored results and other junk, and so far it’s felt like “old google” more than anything else. Plus they have my preferred color scheme as a built in option!

I use foot, it’s very bare bones, but I’m using zellig to get all the QoL features I could want!

If I may project a little, I think the commenter is pointing to language that’s been cropping up essentially calling big name republicans traitors for endorsing Kamala. While you’re more than allowed to interpret what they said literally, I read it has intentionally a bit hyperbolic to make the point that a huge portion of the Republican Party will literally blindly follow him, even if the party leaders are starting to flake.

Just remember, rewording this statement:

If big name Republicans aren’t going to vote for him, why are you assuming all other Republicans will?

To the version that would exemplify your interpretation:

Still creates an equally bold, and hyperbolic claim. Sometimes people use words like “all” and don’t really mean every last person. I blame the English language, not the people taking words literally, for misunderstandings like this.

Just remember, especially with politics, people often hype up language a bit, it makes statements carry more oomph, and can help keep supporters excited for whatever movement they are supporting.

Yeah, I was running it through Tailscale too. I’m definitely closer to a newbie than I am a self hosting vet, so there’s likely some fault of mine that made things not run so well.

Yeah I had my eye on this a few months back when I was looking for a FOSS windows Remote Desktop alternative. Between the security issues, and generally struggle to get it working well, I eventually went to a sunshine/moonlight combo for shockingly high performance screen sharing that can even handle basic gaming if need be.
