I’ll be honest, I thought it would get worse and not better. I would love to be wrong.
Either way the meltdown will be funny so I’m here for it.

All I want is for people to make informed choices when picking an OS for a machine. An immutable OS has value in the right circumstances, but if you weren’t expecting that it would definitely be frustrating.
My kids play on my Steam Deck so I know all too well how useful it can be lol. I’ve done many Windows reinstallations in my time.
Aloft looks potentially interesting but the alpha was a bit bare on content. I want to see how people feel about it in a few weeks.
For the patient gamers though, perhaps check out Astroneer or Dinkum? Maybe Stationeers or From the Depths if you’re into serious simulation.
Especially if SteamOS remains immutable when it lands, then I really won’t be able to suggest it except for situations like “my kids have a habit of blowing up their computers” or something.
The Rocket League community united around the idea that forcing everyone to watch every single replay makes them more tilted, so that’s what they’re going to do. The toxicity of that community is off the charts, up there with the worst like League of Legends. The part that drives me nuts is that League of Legends has bad game design that is partially responsible for the toxicity; what is Rocket League’s excuse?
I never saw toxicity at the community scale before Rocket League. Before that it was always individual, even in games like Rust, EVE Online, World of Tanks… Rocket League is special somehow.
Can you actually understand mumble rappers?
Seriously though I find these accessibility discussions very informative and they make me think about how I develop things and share information. Thank you for sharing.
This along with the upcoming damage to Canadian trade is why you’re seeing a lot more Canadians talking shit. Of course we’re pissed: Trump opening his dumb shit-eating mouth caused our dollar to lose 10-15 cents on the US dollar.
Also it’s pretty funny that some Americans (like OP) think Europeans are jealous of them and that’s why they shitpost about America. Americans need to actually talk to Europeans about this, because they will find out America is viewed as a deeply immoral and unequal country, stuck in a backward way of life because Americans think it’s the greatest nation on Earth.
I used to spend more on new games but I have cut back a lot, largely because new games suck and are very poorly optimized. I have refused hardware upgrades due to the absurd costs and been playing more on my Steam Deck instead.
Currently playing State of Decay 2 and Helldivers 2, will circle back to Hogwarts Legacy, Core Keeper, and a few other games later.
That just ends up being a tax on blue collars and shift workers.
The wealthy all seem to understand that class solidarity is more important than any other issue. Why is it taking so long for everyone else to figure that out?
Apparently Path of Exile 2 has very serious performance issues on Windows 11 24H2, to the point of being unplayable.
Tower Unite is like this, with a bunch of social games too. VR is not needed.
Wurm Unlimited tends to be my go-to winter game to get stuck into.
Yeah I keep falling off Elite Dangerous, despite loving it.
Same. I want to like it but that engineering grind is absurd.
This shit is why I stopped playing Rust, Eve Online, and a bunch of other games. I can’t do the time sink anymore and to be honest, I’m not sure why I ever tolerated it.
I’ve been playing Abiotic Factor and Journey to the Savage Planet with my wife and enjoying them a lot, and a big part of why is that I don’t need to log in every day. With my guys I also occasionally hop into Dinkum, Volcanoids, Darktide (post-progression update), Helldivers 2… Even Darktide and Helldivers 2 are borderline too grindy for me.
Okay so I don’t have an example that matches IRL time like Animal Crossing but a game with similar style I can do. If you’re down with time progression like Stardew Valley, check out Dinkum, best summarized as “Outback Animal Crossing”
Vermintide and Left 4 Dead’s rolling commentary works because they use it strategically rather than filling every moment of time up with bullshit. Borderlands just got worse with each game until the third one went off the rails.
I’m a pretty hardcore lefty: do on-the-ground organizing, contribute some of my time to NGOs, am part of the working group on some causes, etc… Damn near everyone of note in my union knows me by first name.
So it comes as a real shocker to them that I think gun control as they want to pursue it is deeply misguided. This is not an emotional decision: my stance is informed by statistics, experience, and theory. You can actually have working gun control without banning anything.
You sound like the kind of guy who wipes back-to-front.
