  • Well, im sorry too for arriving late, my Lemmy app apparently stopped feeding me notifications until I manually logged on mi instance site, odd but I’m here now

Severance being done better is a good call but given the situation, what’s better than following the law that there was when he was established (and therefore did not dictate over) President? The thing is if said specific workers are given better escapes than what’s strictly legal and, on top of that cheapest it becomes analogous to the “Benefits of the Caste” he so much promised to go against, again voters mentioned they wanted exactly what he did, and anything better for them although clearly better for the individual civilian is also a contradiction of any other worker’s equality in terms of getting fired, just because they’re state contractors should they go with more than what’s established for everyone else? Is what I’m thinking without even accounting the wide range of accusations from citizenship about state workers being less than lawful (Which I have seen a lot)

Economic stability is a plus, being poorer now than in the last 20 years has almost been a constant for Argentina, it’s terrible that the chain has start at the top (corporations being benefited before workers) but given his projections at the assumption of the charge, it was expected and what follows should be the better for workers

he just is a apathetic being who does not give a single flying fvck about those who are not in a comfortable position capable of resisting the measures I want to quote this specifically because IF I remember correctly, he did increase they government-aid for families to the double as soon as he got the charge, I think it was called “Asignacion Universal por Hijo” explicitly to help those in need for the upcoming changes, which was not well received on his supporting discussions I saw, yet still he did, so I’d rather believe that there is consideration for those people too

I’m aware of the background of the Vice-President, and I don’t have much compliments to make for her, as time has told she seems to be on the other side of the frame than Milei as she recently sought after increasing her own salary and other things Milei has been completely against since the beginning, I do think she’s very nationalist however, which seems to be something Argies can benefit from given her role on state defense. The atrocities of the military are not to be forgotten, but I personally do believe it is not their obligation to apologize for their blood

  • Salute, it’s been fun to talk about stuff and also i’m getting more information I missed so I thank you for that as well

I’m aware that Job states were practically severed, but I also think Milei has done it the legal way? I’ve seen discussions always pointing towards no-renewal of contracts rather than firing workers outright, if not shutting down entities which if it had followed the law, I think it’s best for Argentina’s people interests since doing that was also something he boasted about in his campaign, it’s bad for the workers of course but in any private environment, assuming the law is followed, would have the same results for any money-bleeding enterprise, again, as he promised to do so they (workers) probably saw it coming even and prepared accordingly

I wasn’t aware of the second usage of the state app, however what you mention about the first one’s message we would need the exact wording, given that wasn’t lying in Argentina’s case it seems and it doesn’t sound like a political attack or propaganda for other things than the hotline

About the economic front I think it’s the first time we collide, in all the discussions, news and analysis I have seen about Milei’s economic effects EVERYTHING I got from it indicated that Dollars were losing value against the Peso, and from Argentines getting paid in Dollars they stated they were becoming poorer, likewise there have been recent news about Brazilians going on vacation to Argentina to find that everything was extremely expensive in Dollars, comparing it to the last year where some said to have things practically gifted… so I am not sure if we’re talking about the same thing here, but all about it seems to compass that the Peso is increasing it’s value, while Salaries don’t increase that’s correct but the worth of them does, and Dollars lose value against the Peso

About his Social Conservativeness, yeah I have seen he has stances on that, I am not sure I about this exactly when, but I think he was asked about his Ideological stance in a recent interview from a British Podcaster (I can’t remember the name of right now but it was recent), and he replied by asking them if they wanted the Personal Answer or the Governmental Agenda one… point is I believe he has it straight to have his personal views out of the government agenda, but we’ll see

Wasn’t the Vice president a woman? but anyway, I guess that’s to be suspected yeah, whatever the case I hope it incentivizes to increase scrutiny bars, it’s very complicated to say it really had a tie to either field since cause and effect really benefit both sides

  • Hello there, thanks for getting back, I have also kept some watch through different mediums and I can agree on most terms of your comments, I do think there are some outliers however.

The primary motto of his campaign was to make the caste pay, while I agree the workers have also paid, there have been more movements against said group that have ever been applied in Argentina before, I can remember some law he decreed to take down that State Jobs could be inherited from parents to their children, which was crazy to even think of, which makes me think that part of the promise is on-going rather than broken, if we apply the term without looking at where the caste is from (public state/private enterprise) then he does certainly miss the term on the non-governmental caste

About the economical effects it’s certain it put a hold to it’s imminent doom, but also worker salary increases and tax cuts are only beginning to happen, I remember poverty was first reported half throughout this year to be 57% and reports from the same entity have gone downhill since, while worker Salaries have only began increasing in the past two months, in his most recent speech given on the anniversary of his presidency, he did declare he would take off 90% of the taxes in the foreseeable future, which im inclined to believe given the record, perhaps it’s gonna be better once that takes off

I remember reading some news about that state app Propaganda you mention, it was more specifically aimed at an specific union, the leader of which had been trialed for threatening workers to strike under his force group or to be left without benefits. Under these circumstances I don’t believe it was used as Propaganda, since the message indicated that if you were being threatened, you could call the hotline to denounce it, again given the circumstances, Argentina had all of it’s available public media used for campaign for the Economy Minister back in the elections, so im certain Milei could have used way more if he wanted to make propaganda, this is tame in comparison, maybe it can be acceptable given the justice ruled the union leader guilty of those accusations

You are right he’s been ruling by decree, I do not know about those bribes for congressman, I haven’t seen a report of any kind of that either public or alleged but that’s worrying, in the other hand, the parties being bribed would be as guilty of not enforcing democracy in that case, but for Milei’s decree ruling, I believe it was a tool that was granted to him by the same congress, much like it happened with the previous President during the Pandemic, and statistically Milei has used it far less than him in the same period of time. I would believe his disrespect towards his opponents to be part of the “Cultural War” that he refers to where he has to defend his ideas until the results show up, and then he would let them speak for themselves, given the right I would believe he can tone it down in the future, but we’ll see

  • Well, that makes sense for the most part, but there’s the important detail that there are streaming services that grant you a fully uncontrolled rig, I just cant think of any that are free. In fact, Geforce Now used to do this, until legal issues arised from a clause being extremely specific making users unable to legally play on a device they werent physically in contact with, real shitty but allegedly not Nvidia’s fault or the cloud streaming service as a whole.

  • Im seriously intersted on how is Cloud Gaming (in the way Geforce does it) part of the “you will own nothing and be happy” issue, im not saying the trope isnt real, im saying that I cant think how does it fit into this concept. On my view this is akin as going into a Cyber Cafe you could walk down the street anyday, you dont own anything either but your money’s worth isnt sailing without you receiving what you paid for

  • So I got the email today and I just want to share my experience.

Im with NVIDIA on this one, let me explain. I’ve been using the service for the past 2 years (half of it’s lifetime since release 4 years ago) and I thought to myself from the get go “this is unsubtainable” and that I would have nowhere to game on high performance after they inevitably shut down the free plan. I was wrong, and this does translate to a good experience

To elaborate, queues in free tier have 3 states, the first one being “go grab a snack and you’ll be back to the game launcher” which is when the queue has a little over 100 people that took up to 10 minutes to clear, this has been the most common in my experience due to my region’s timezone being the most far apart from the people in my continent (America) and thus I get to play when most people arent and such the queue is very accessible

The second state is “everyone is asleep you get in immediately” which I just happen to incur into every other weekend I devote to gaming till 4 AM (which would be like till 9 AM for the rest of the continent)

And the third and most uncommon scenario I have face is “A game is very popular right now, everyone is playing regardless of timezone” which has happened a number of times I can count with my both hands, the most recent one being past september the servers were so saturated it took hours to get in even at night time of my region. THIS HOWEVER DID NOT STOP ME FROM USING THE SERVICE, why you may ask, well the answer is more “how”, because the service allows you to pick manually a region to play in, I instead of defaulting to my local server, manually chose one in Europe, and sure enough Europe had many available servers, I could play in again like if it was the first state, this obviously came with a slight increase in input delay but given the PvE nature of my games, I went unbothered with it. Until things calmed down on my region and I could go back to my server

Conclusion is, GFN Free Tier is absolutely worth the cost, and having abused the shit out of it this is good news, it means they really dont intend to shut it down for the foreseeable future which is the most important part, but also it might improve thanks to the generated revenue where there previously was none. Unlike Youtube and Spotify this seems to be non-interruptive which is welcomed as well, obviously you cant just pause a game midway for an ad, they understand this is not how things work.

  • Except that… he’s already making the Caste pay?.. 2 out of his 3 Decrees so far have already cut A LOT of Political Priviledges and Money making schemes planted by the Peronists, and more are to come out of his words. Sure the workers are paying too i’ll give you that.

And yes, Massa was the President, of course not in an official way because that would be unconstitutional and Political Suicide, on the Most Peronist fashion it was all done under the rug. As soon as Massa assumed his charge the President Alberto Fernandez LITERALLY dissapeared from Public View AND Executively did NOTHING the rest of his mandate. Massa took his place both in Public Acts and on actually ordering the Country. There’s no way to make this shit up given how blatant it was

  • I agree, “you too” is not an excuse, but that wasn’t what I was trying to imply. For clarification it’s a matter of pick your poison because it doesn’t matter the person nor the space they belong to, bad apples are gonna be there so wether you prefer those bad apples to come from china or united states is really the only choice you can make.

And there is a saying in Argentina that if Peronism doesnt make sense to you, it means you understood it perfectly. The deal here is that it’s been the power that’s dominated the country since it’s inception… and look how that’s going
