Dagwood222@lemm.eetoUnited States | News & Politics@midwest.social•Looser gun laws tied to thousands more U.S. child shooting deaths32·3 days agoThat’s how you proved my point.
Millions and millions of ‘responsible gun owners’ donating to hundreds of politicians, and yet they can’t come up with anything like a plan to stop even one kid from getting shot.
It started with Monica’s dress.
The idea that people were shocked by Bill Clinton was nonsensical. LBJ and Kennedy did far worse, and the ‘gentleman’s agreement’ kept it all quiet. The GOP knew that they were going to give the children of America a back door* sex education, and they didn’t care.
*I knew it was going to sound awful but I decided why not?

Dagwood222@lemm.eetoUnited States | News & Politics@midwest.social•Looser gun laws tied to thousands more U.S. child shooting deaths112·3 days agoThe funniest thing is that if you debate a 2A person they will swear that they personally keep up with their training and keep all weapons fully secured. Then they will explain how forcing anyone else to take these common sense precautions is a horrible idea.
Let’s not forget, if they arrested even a handful of employers the rest would stop hiring tomorrow. No jobs, no immigrants.

Trump and his MAGats are people who can’t/won’t accept that the world is changing and will do anything to bring back a past that never existed.

I can’t recall the exact line, but it was something like “I had to save you; you’re the only other person I’ve ever met who is as evil as I am.”

Cohn was Joe McCarthy’s attack dog and had a reputation as the most vicious lawyers in New York. Cohn was the guy who taught Donny to make contracts with mid level businesses and then stiff them.
Trump repaid these lessons by abandoning Cohn when he found out Cohn had AIDS

To quote the American humorist Kin Hubbard, ‘It ain’t no disgrace to be poor, but might as well be.’ It is in fact a crime for an American to be poor, even though America is a nation of poor. Every other nation has folk traditions of men who were poor but extremely wise and virtuous, and therefore more estimable than anyone with power and gold. No such tales are told by the American poor. They mock themselves and glorify their betters. The meanest eating or drinking establishment, owned by a man who is himself poor, is very likely to have a sign on its wall asking this cruel question: ‘if you’re so smart why ain’t you rich?’ There will also be an American flag no larger than a child’s hand glued to a lollipop stick and flying from the cash register.
