That was a reference to a video I saw, something like, trying to play borderlands at 60 FPS on a $4k computer.

2k is about the minimum these days for a full system when you include taxes and shipping. That will get you a midrange system. You can get lower end stuff or buy a used graphics card. Personally I’m still rocking a 1070 and it’s excellent for like 99% of games. I’m lucky that the handful of games that won’t run on it I don’t care about anyways.

Also a less known fact, real inflation, not government reported is probably close to 100% over the past 10 years. So really a $2000 machine today is the same as a $1000 computer 10-15 years ago. Our wages didn’t go up of course. That’s the whole point of a fiat currency and inflation! It’s a clever and sneaky wealth tax. It’s a way to cut your wages quickly in a way that 90% of people don’t understand. They just yell at the gas station clerk because their soda is nearly $5. Their poor little brains can’t conceive of a concept so sophisticated as they are actually being payed less, stuff doesn’t cost more. People aren’t going to make stuff for free and give it to them. It’s just not a simple number so it confuses them. If businesses had to adjust your pay to match real inflation, guess what?, there would be no inflation and no fiat currency. No reason for it to exist because they couldn’t screw us out of our wages without telling us to our face Just extra paperwork and time for managers, little fake economic growth and no unnatural bubbling of markets.

Not true, they didn’t like the Nazis for several reasons, most of them good but a few bad ones.

They did not like them because they were antidemocratic and banned free speech.

They did not like Germany because they were overly militaristic, causing the other countries like Britain to have to spend a ton of money on their military.

Many people in America at that time we’re not as anti racist as in modern terms, but they did not like the level of racism that existed in Germany. They believed nonwhites to be inferior in ways, but they didn’t think they were inhuman. Hitler generally looked at these things like a math equation. To him he didn’t not believe in any religion or anything. He did not believe in any type of morality. It was all about a will to power, and so to him if he won then he won, simple as that, it didn’t matter who he killed or for what reason.

America was actually much more socialist at this time, and also Britain and France, even if they didn’t like communism. Not really because they thought it was socialist, but because they thought it was totalitarian and a mob movement run by ignorant people.

Also the right wing tries to coup the U.S government which soured their reputation among more patriotic and nationalistic politicians at the time. FDR was extremely popular. He called himself a progressive or new nationalists. I think Democrats held 90% of the house at that time. Socialism was very popular although FDR didn’t like calling himself a socialist because of its increasing association with communists who also called themselves socialists. He was essentially a social Democrat/ borderline democratic socialist.

Also everything the Nazis stood for was just extremely anti American. Yes there were dixkheads like Henry Ford and stuff who admire the Nazis and were very racist, but most Americans were not. The brisish at this time did not even understand American racism at all because they didn’t have it in the same way at the time. The empires were very multiethnic. They thought of these things as being cultural and not racial things. British people considered british culture to be superior to others, but they didn’t really extend this to race. Their racist ideas were more realistic. Slight differences between races but in reality it’s almost all nurture.

The only bad reason they were against them was because the Nazis were nationalists and didn’t want foreign companies in their economy. The British and Americans didn’t like this. They had extensive investments around the world. Germany didn’t really have an empire at this time. It is obviously good, at least to me anyways that the people and state of a country retain control of all its industry and natural resources. Foreign investment is usually bad unless you are one of the few people in the right wing puppet state or military who gets paid off to allow it to happen.

Such a bad argument. There is no reason for the game to not support lower end hardware except for lazy development. Not a good sign for the future of borderlands. This is also the type of game that really sucks if you don’t get a locked 60 FPS. Borderlands 3 is still a laggy mess on my steam deck. Sometimes it just stutters forever. Constantly generating shaders or something. There is no reason for it to be that way and lowering the setting has almost no effect on the actual performance. This is 100% the fault of the devs. They are pushing half complete products to market not the consumer.

Also as many others have stated, not everyone has $4000 to drop on a PC. My most powerful machine is a Skylake processor with a 1070. It runs most games fine, it’s just the handful of unoptimized unreal engine games that run badly. I have nearly limitless options to buy other games from devs who actually care about us poorer folk. A 4070 ti is like 800-1000 rn. Probably won’t even run this game well. This is in an age where we have had nearly 100% inflation in a few years. Most people can barely afford to buy a car without spending half of their paycheck. They should be trying to make their games work on older hardware now more than ever. Ram is cheap, there are some things you can work around. It’s usually not worth it to target low RAM devices, but there is really no good reason for you game to not scale well to lower end GPUs. You don’t have to have only 4k textures on disk. You can easily automate a process to create lower poly, and lower resolution textures, implement modest lighting systems. It’s pretty easy in relation to other things. Cpus are mid, you shouldn’t necessarily target 10 year old CPUs if it’s going to make the game worse but your game shouldn’t be so unoptimized that you need 5.5 ghz on a single core to get 60 fps. You should at least have a proper lod system in place so that you can support lower end GPUs in many cases where it’s not very difficult.

The issue with many of these modern triple AAA games is they are trying to avoid as much work as possible. They are trying to avoid targeting lower end hardware because it’s a bit of work and they are struggling to finish their games. They need to plan for these things from the start and work them into their process.

A better way is to just limit connections and upload speed and seed forever. If your total connections is like 25 and your max upload is like 100 KB/ps, it doesn’t affect your internet or anything although you should use a VPN and stuff, and it helps to keep those files out there with a complete source for a long time.

It’s not even about profits, they have all the money and leverage in the world, that’s the point of a fiat state mandated and backed currency. It’s about control and censorship and brainwashing. Whether you are even capable of learning stuff depends entirely on your genetics and epigendtics. Only a few students in any one area will ever retain much knowledge. The thing that actually determines how well your society becomes, tends to be things like how happy the childhood of your citizens are. Very few people ever seek knowledge long term within a healthy lifestyle. School for most kids is just a way to babysit them while the parents work long shifts for corporations.

The tragedy is the kids in south korea hardly get a childhood at all. They stay in ultra competative schools during the day, only to be shuttled off to cram schools in the evening. They are not even human beings in the eyes of their own parents. They exist soley to fullfill the dreams of their parents, which is to hopefully work hard enough to become some executive for one of the seveal corporations that almost completly own the South Korean Economy.

Many of these kids, like many in South Korea will grow up to be massivly depressed alchoholics and workaholics. Never having much of a life beyond serving their managers. This comes out in several ways in the character of Koreans. Many of them are incredibly dark people. Thats why media like the squid games is so popular over there. Behind the venure of a very productive and industrious society where most forgo almost all of their individuality, never even having a childhood. Behind it lies so many incredibly dark and deeply depressed people traped within a virtual prison of wealth and status.

People like this would maybe end up ruling the world, given they work so much, and so hard, yet with their childhood also dies their soul. Their creativity dies, their dreams die, their human spirit is deminished in the hell they create and call progress. The parts of their dna that make them human, slowly whither away under hyper corporatism. Just like everything else in their society a child is nothing more then property. An investment by corporations. A robot that is as equally bland as it is numb. Never does anyone in a society like that actually consider that maybe they dont have a right to dictate every little aspect of their childs life in order to promote what they believe a child should be. So those that feel, those that see deeply the lights in the city nights. Those that see beauty. They die away as the human race regresses day by day.

South Korea has always been a deeply disturbing place to me. A place that is truely inhumane, yet such a beautiful place as well. Behind every woman who looks likes a flight attendent, and every man wearing a suit or dress clothes, is a society which has almost no creativity and soul. No individualism. No happiness. No relationships. Everything is about efficency, everything is about materialism. All the money in the world doesnt matter if you don’t get to fall in love with someone, and have dreams, and watch your kids play and be happy. What is even the point of life it is nothing but work, followed by a few hours a drinking before crashing out for the night, and starting it all over again?

They don’t have any in the U.S unfortunatly. They wont sell the radios to access our cell networks to companies that wont do what they want them to do. Like lock bootloaders, ban apps they dont like, etc.

Its a horrible law, although there is no punishment, it just normalizes the idea of persecuting and shaming innocent people. The laws are not good when you use them to micromanage your neighbors lives. Laws are supposed to be for taking away the need for violence from society and putting judgment into a transparent and safe and strict process. All this type of stuff just gives the state more power to harm people it doesnt like who are doing nothing actually wrong. Like all laws this will only be selectivly enforced against people the powerful dont like. The reason countries really start to become bad is when you get one group of idiots in power who think they know everything, who think it their role to mold humanity into their idea of right and wrong. People lose their motivation, their creativity, their will to build things, because their life becomes a benign hell of just being a host for elitest parasites. It starts with elitest assholes telling you how you are allowed to spend your free time, and what types of haircuts are acceptable, and what types of books you are allowed to read, mass zurveliience, propganda on every type of media you consume. Silencing disidents. It ends with a society where nobody cares about anything. Nobody wants to work. There isnt anything to buy anyways. Creativity at first and then the good genes in the population just die out. The human race is truely fucked. The greatest filter we have is our complete inability to not abuse innocent people. So many humans just want to control each other. Humans are obsessed with controling each other. Nothing great was ever created by control, only by the florishing of the human spirit and liberty, allowing people to be creative and weird and happy. History so clearly shows this. Religous societies and authoritarian societies are always complete shitholes even for the ones who benifit, like the racialy pure male normative class. The nicest societies are the ones who out liberty above all else. The richest person in a bad country is worse off then the poorest person in a nice country. Money doesnt buy happiness. Money cannot buy you love, not real love, just a simulation of it. Money cannot protect your kids. Money does not give your life meaning. Money usually just ruins you even more then you already were and then you jave to lie and xeluse yourself into thinking you deserve it, to avoid cognitive disonance with the only people who can tolorate you. Too bad people are too dumb to realize this now. People who trade liberty for temporary security, people who trade liberty so they can avoid actually facing any real issues in society, people who trade liberty so they can be comcortable and growntheir 401k, are the worst types of people.
