  • If given the option, I would take 1925 with its great depression, world wars and pandemics over 2025.

Our current society has been insidiously changed over the last 40 years to create an indentured population to serve a select few, this comes at the cost of a mass extinction event which in all honesty will most likely cause the human race to go the way of the dodo.

So no amount of social mobility will fix this, I’m sorry but the world is a nightmare hellscape. Thank god we can compartmentalize.

  • Migrated away from Google because they’re just genuinely useless.

Search results are infested with AI bullshit and SEO slop, can’t actually search for anything useful unless you know the website you’re looking for, in which case I just go to the website directly.

Youtube curates a selection of completely irrelevant videos to try to shove ads down your throat, I still have to change my user agent string every time because YouTube throws a hissy fit at firefox with ublock.

Gmail is pretty much the same as any other email provider but comes at the expense of your data being sold for advertising purposes.

Don’t even get me started on the shit show that is Android.

I run GrapheneOS, Fedora and debian, self host what I can and use decent providers for what I can’t. I’m the furthest away from the big tech corps than I’ve ever been and it feels great to have computers that actually compute and not serve me useless fucking ad drivel.

  • Well that’s good, BIOS issues are PITA. If you’re still having issues:

Sounds like some hidden windows magic, I’d format the drive from a linux live usb then install windows on the blank drive after a reboot

Maybe disconnect the power and CMOS battery for awhile too incase there’s something lurking in some onboard memory somewhere.

There’s always linux, which is personally what I’d recommend for a server (less overhead from graphical clients etc) if you have the patience to pick it up, but hopefully the above solves your problem

  • Lenovo think centre pcs are great home servers, I personally run debian on mine and have zero issues with it

Two things I can think of, it’s either some remnant program from the original drive in which case just toss it or re-use it elsewhere and put your HDDs in, you don’t know what the state of the OG HDD is anyway and for read/write heavy programs like plex or storage it’s probably at a higher chance of failure

It has some kind of BIOS lock, you said you can get into the BIOS but have you tried to change anything? It might prompt you for a password In which case you might be able to reset the BIOS or will have to contact lenovo to sort it out if possible.

The worst BIOS password bypass Ive done is to actually fry the chip storing the password, there is so many things wrong with doing this but it MAY be possible as a last resort so please exhaust all other options before attempting this

They’re useless because the capital powers that be actively try to misinform the public on preferential voting (As part of a larger attack on education to keep a complicit population)

If I had a dollar every time I heard someone tell me I’m throwing away my vote for preferencing a minor party that has no hope of winning I’d probably have enough money to bribe a politician into making some decent fucking policy
