3·1 year agoAmd did that back in the day. All the chips were the same but locked out. You could scrape and use a pencil to draw in a jumper and make your chip the flagship one.
If they put the premium shit in the car and software locked it out, fuck them. It’s part of the car I paid for, I’ll do whatever the fuck I want with it. Don’t like it? Don’t put the premium shit in a base model.

4·2 years agoI put up with my ex wifes bullshit for years. I had to deal with her because of the children. After our youngest turned 18 and she tried to give me shit for something that was her fault I told her the truth. I told her she was a cancer to everyone that has ever had her be a part of her life and that she’s a terrible person. It’s been a few years now and I haven’t heard a single thing from her and it’s great.

Maybe because on reddit you have an absolute fuck ton of right wing propaganda bots.
What happens when Elon loses more money and decides you’re going to pay for the software updates or you’re going to get one that makes your car useless? It won’t be long before you’ll have to pay a monthly “maintenance fee” just to be able to operate it. That’s the problem with buying a car that they can do whatever they want to it whenever they want. I’ll stick with a dumb car that doesn’t tell anyone how I drive or where I go.
I love electric though and when it becomes more feasible, I’ll start swapping some old fun stuff to electric. Until then though, I’ll stick with dinosaur bones and boost.
