I don’t care about Facebook, but Messenger and Marketplace I cannot replace them at all for the moment :-/

Same my friend, same… I’m on FB since 2008 or so as all my families and friends. For years now everyone gave up on it (I mean nobody is posting their vacation or food plate anymore) and the feed is mainly sponsored ads and far right stuff (In Canada there is no official news, only alternatives news).

But everyone are still using Messenger to talk, we have groups etc, and damn Marketplace is the thing here in Montreal, everyone is using it and it’s incredible to buy/sell, you need it or you will never buy/sell anything used.

I’m in the same boat, I want to ditch Meta, but Messenger/Marketplace has no alternatives.

Unfortunately, also, all the good old forums died off and people are using FB groups now, but it’s not as good

Like people already wrote, FB is not used anymore to share your vacation and see your friends food plates. Me and about everybody around me are using FB for Marketplace (big here, about the only platform used to buy/sell), and for all kind of groups, being for hobbies like RC cars, Astronomy, Funko Pop, RVing, Painting, Costco, whatever, etc.

I have not posted a pic or a thought on FB for years, nor really read something from my hundred friends there in my FB feed, but I go there about everyday to browse my groups.

It’s not as good as old forums about your car brand/model etc, but it is happening there now.

If you want to replace FB for friends/family/picture/events, no clue, maybe IG lol

Doesn’t he know Canada is basically a british colony? We have the King on all our coins/bills, if he wants to invade Canada, I think UK will say something about it. And if Canada separates, I’d rather join France than USA. Also we can burn the white house like in 1812.

In Canada, on Facebook there is no more news media, all the news TV channels or al the traditional media press etc are gone, you cannot even share news articles on Messenger, or if someone elsewhere in the world post one, your feed or messenger says that you cannot see it.

Unfortunately what is remaining in facebook feed are all pseudo news, far right, fake news, racist, etc because they are not in the “news media” category so are free to post/share what they want.
