Out of curiosity, would they be subject to these laws/protocols/regulations if they are (developers or organization) based in the US, but offer releases hosted elsewhere in the world AND/OR develop the product with code hosted elsewhere in the world?

Likely not. Seems to just be a state management issue. When in a community, and you upvote a post while viewing it, then return back to the community page, your vote doesn’t reflect. But if you refresh, then it shows it.
Looks like Memmy just doesn’t update the post properly when returning. Coincidentally, the other app you used may have the same issue.

If there’s a vehicle manufacturer I can trust to make a reliable battery with that kind of performance, it’s Toyota… Buuuuuuuuuuuut, I’ll believe it when I see it.

As a Matt, r/matt was a community for us Matt’s to do what us Matt’s do. I’m a little “homeless” here on Lemmy, but I get by.
As a car enthusiast, I’m a little biased with this one, but beyond knowing how to change a flat, you should know how to do basic maintenance on your vehicle. Oil changes, brake replacements, etc. Some people are just not interested, which I fully understand, but for those who are, you can save some money with labour costs (and parts in some cases) doing the maintenance yourself.
