One comment I saw eons ago explained it, it went something like this

“Imagine theres a group called Team-No-Bad-Guy. They gather to yell to stop people doing bad guy things. You don’t like those people that they yell at, but you don’t like the non-yelling methods Team-No-Bad-Guy uses sometimes. Team-No-Bad-Guy hears you say this and calls you a bad guy and begin yelling at you. You realize that they can call anyone bad guys and you wonder how things would be for you after the big bad guys were gone.”

  • imo the questions about efficiency and commitment to the constitution isn’t that crazy to ask upfront. If I remember right all federal employees have to swear an oath when they are hired. It also matches the one military officers say.

“I, ____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

But note that it makes no mention of loyalty to the President directly, unlike the oath of enlistment military enlisted members say (see below). That’s what I find most odd about these questions on USAjobs and what I think is crossing a line leaning towards political loyalty over constitutional loyalty.

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

I’m not against them, but I wonder how EVs will hold up in the long haul. Like in 20 years will there even be a feasible used market or will the batteries and motors be too shitty without a crazy expensive replacements to keep them practical?

And then there’s the scrapping process for batteries too. Can batteries be refurbished, scrapped or recycled in a way that most regions can do it?

Like LEDs I know they CAN be built to last a long time, but I know companies often don’t
