  • Would love to see more institutions of higher education follow Harvard’s lead. At least here in the northeast, education is one of the largest employers. Despite how much government money plays a part in their operation, I feel like major universities are in a good position to start making demands and assert their autonomy given the resources at their disposal.

This also means states should work on filling the void left by federal funding for their educational institutions , which in large part is already done but could be taken further to ensure that they do not need to be accountable to the madman in Washington.

  • At first I was like “Why would anyone want to change OoT’s art and mess with perfection?”, but I do have to admit that I have really been craving a modern Zelda game in the vein of the N64 releases, which is a formula they haven’t touched since Skyward Sword in 2011. And Oblivion just recently showed me that sometimes a new coat of paint really is all you need.

Wind Waker at least is a game that (visually) aged very gracefully and I think can still stand against newer games even now, but I’ve played it to death and just wish we had something new.

Also not to discredit BotW/TotK or anything, I think they are still great games and I also really enjoyed them, but they’re just built different. Zelda is now a franchise of 3 distinct styles, but only two of them (2D and open world) are still getting new releases.

  • Yep, that’s the problem with browsers. They cost so much to maintain that their primary contributors are earning money through other means to keep the projects going. Gecko and Chromium are open-source, backed by Google money on both ends, but even then almost all of the non-corporate browser projects are just forks of one or the other.

Other than Safari, which is closed source and only on Apple’s walled garden, Ladybird is the only non-Chromium, non-Gecko browser I can think of, and it needs a LOT of work.
