  • Look at your own map you posted. Then think about how much influence the non voters could have had. Given the fact that it’s apparently more than half the population it would have made a huge difference. Possibly with a very different election outcome. just because it feels like it doesn’t matter doesn’t make it true. Every vote changes the result after all. Even in a system that has flaws.

While it’s not great to pick a side that you don’t quite believe in it’s still better than not voting because that only helps the side that you really don’t want to see win. Which is exactly what happened. That is in my humble opinion the real shortsighted and naive thing Going on here.

There is this saying : if you didn’t exercise your right to vote, you don’t have the right to complain about the election results either.

Not voting is effectively saying : “don’t care, either is good for me.” So… Yes you did choose this result by virtue of not making your opinion heard when you were asked for your opinion.

  • Right. AI music? Hopefully not, it is likely going to lead to generic slop that may infringe on other artists copyright. AI Podcasts? OH GOD NO! factual news isn’t working with AI and you guys think that opinions with AI is a good idea? Are you crazy?

Now music recommendations? That might just work given that algorithms are already doing a decent job at presenting new ( to the particular user, not by actual age) music that the user may enjoy. The question really is if that is actually better than what we already have. And there is only one way to find out, which is by testing it and then being honest about it.

  • Come on… Shitty safety measures have never, ever, in the history of mankind led to catastrophic events with a lasting fallout. -some government that collapsed

After all after some point safety is just pure waste of money. -some dead CEO

It doesn’t take enshittification for something real bad to happen. All it takes is time. Add the mentioned enshittification and corner cutting and we know for sure what will happen…

Or how the saying in EvE online goes : it’s not a question on if your ship gets blown up but a question of when it gets blown up.

We don’t know, contract work can be hell with clients being really picky and uncooperative.

Not to mention that they may have picked them despite the fact that they are not a good fit but were available. We can’t assume that they are good with more scripted rollercoaster rides when they are mainly known for systemic games.

  • In my personal experience, ignoring them really doesn’t help anyone but them. They will find a way to spin that into their favour.

And to perhaps go on a short tangent : one of the best ways to get rid of an infection is to kill it. Even our body’s immune system knows about that and is usually doing just that. To the point where it just orders sick body cells to die.

In other words. Not helping them by not giving them any more free real estate is not enough, you need to make their lives actively miserable.

Or yet again in other words, not paying them any more money is not good enough to stop otban or Hungary, you actually need to make it hurt for them if they keep doing what they want. Give their actions actual consequences.

As it stands right now Hungary is best either out of the EU or at least has ALL their rights taken away from them while it stays how it is. Including all the EU funds and then some.

They play hardball? You need to play hardball better than them. Simple as that.

  • There are reasons for why that is possible, for better or worse.

To reverse malicious actions that may have been taken by other people that got access to the account for any reason for example.

There may even be legal reasons for why that is the case. Licensing law can be quite complicated.

And then there is the fact that if it’s hidden it’s effectively gone anyways and that may actually be what people actually care about. Not whether or not they technically still have that game or not. People wanting a clean library is a thing and it ties into the concept that is the right to be forgotten.

  • I can only speak for Deus ex: mankind divided since I have played that myself.

It is technically a sequel in the sense that there are other Deus ex games that came before it with the original Deus ex, invisible war and human revolution. That said every single one of those games has it’s own self contained story with only some overlap between them. Mankind divided features the same main character to play from the previous game but everything else is different. From the location to the characters barring one which isn’t an issue for reasons… And is also otherwise completely isolated from the first two games maybe with one Hommage that you might miss If you don’t know the first game but then it’s just a great character instead of the thing it’s supposed to be.

Long story short, IMHO you can just pick that one up and play it without worrying about missing a ton.
