  • Absolutely. The disregard for government secrets is far more blatant here and in the Trump case and their actions after the fact are far worse. It doesn’t change the fact that there are rules for how classified information is to be handled and we have examples of Trump, his cabinet, Biden, Pence and Clinton disregarding those rules. For Clinton, Biden and Pence, at least I buy that it was a mistake and there is some remorse. They didn’t double down. It doesn’t change the fact that it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Just because things suck now doesn’t mean that we should wish for things to just go back to how they were before. Better than Trump should not be the bar.

  • Yeah, except they are using the new buzzword technology to try and do it. What tools are they using? What testing have they done on them? What is the false positive rate? The MO of this administration has been to use a sledgehammer for issues that require a scalpel. You don’t have to be a part of Hamas or a supporter of terrorism to have opinions on current events. How do we make sure this doesn’t turn into a McCarthy style witch hunt?

Well for one, in the press conference when he announced the CDC’s recommendation to wear cloth masks, he emphasized that it was a voluntary measure and then added he wasn’t going to do it. People look to their leaders for guidance. How many people refused to wear a mask despite the CDC’s recommendation because the president felt the need to throw in his own opinion with his experts’ recommendations.

  • I know how obnoxious ads have become on the internet and I’ve seen how they have progressively gotten longer and more prevalent on YouTube but I don’t really know how to feel about this. Conceptually, they are handling and storing so much video data their operating costs must be astronomical. As far as I know, advertisement is the main way they recoup any of that cost so I can’t really blame them for this. Maybe they are just reaching a point where they are just too massive to work.
