Ha, I just setup a git repo for my dfhack scripts. On an unrelated note. I just had a giant Cyclops attack my fort and I couldn’t get my gate closed in time. So a lone marksdwarf beat it with it’s Iron crossbow until backup could arrive lol

3·3 months agoUBlue is a tool the fedora team created to build immutable distros in a container. This is a list of official distros created by it. If you’ve seen Bazzite it was also created with UBlue.
Immutable distro just means the root filesystem is mounted read-only. So when you do updates, they create another image of your filesystem with the updates applied. Then you have to boot into the new filesystem. This is called an atomic upgrade. So if something is broken, you reload your last image and everything is fine.
Variety is the spice of life. I’ve used Slackware, Arch, Gentoo, Fedora, Nix, been on Debian the last few years. Been looking at setting up my own UBlue image. I really like the immutable thing. Do whatever makes you happy…

Also if you don’t already know. Emudeck https://www.emudeck.com/ will install any emulator you want.
2·3 months agoNo, not yet sorry. I’ll try to make some posts here, once it’s a bit more fleshed out.
I’m creating a bullet heaven. It will have incremental, and tower defense elements. The big feature is that users will create their own bullet patterns from BulletML scripts. Those bullets will interact with the world and NPCs in different ways. For example you shoot fireballs over grass, it’s gonna set it on fire, and turn into a tile of dirt.

1·5 months agoThink of it like a virtual machine. I installed an arch base image, and install the aur version of vscodium. You have to export the app, to have a start menu button. but it’s all relatively simple. It’s pretty well documented in their github.
I have a 650m from 2013 (almost 10 years) and there are zero working drivers aside from noveau ones.
I remember going to a friends house, and he had Pokémon red/blue on his gameboy (I don’t remember exactly which) I played for hours straight, like I don’t remember if we even hung out lol. I know this is anecdotal, but when I was first diagnosed with depression they put me on medicine that made me devoid of feelings like your explanation. Well fast forward a few years and a new doctor. Turns out I’m bipolar, and being on the right medication has been SO helpful and such a night and day difference.
