Writing code. Github: @edu4rdshl
It does work over network, so you don’t need any physical connection apart from being in the same network. Therefore, it’s easier, faster, less complicated, and more.
It does actually support several files, folders, or anything.
I stopped using pairdrop/snapdrop because it doesn’t work on native wayland chrome/chromium due to webrtc.
Right, actually you can use Discord natively on Wayland just passing the flags mentioned in the post. The only issue I have found with the official Discord client is that it doesn’t support streaming audio alongside to streaming your screen, but vesktop does the trick for that.
Works fine here.
Well, you can use it from a browser which makes it platform independent and without the need to install anything. Also it’s more friendly for non-tech people.
Kinda yes, sadly. However, at least they offer some reasoning for it like AI integration with the terminal.
Yes, it’s already fixed, that’s why it was disclosed on Github. I will edit the post to reflect that.
A friend of mine tried and said that it’s basically banning anything lol
Well, the false happiness is kinda expected as it’s a “Instagram App”.
The clash between typical Instagram users and Twitter users who go there is going to be fun.
It’s totally okay to say ‘yes’, that’s called freedom, we are not a cult lol. Some of my friends are going to use it as well :)
Why no? As you can see there are several users who are going to use/try it.
Fair :)
Fair.
I hope that there would be alternative servers/apps for federating with the main server, then it may worth a try. However I doubt that Meta would make it that easy.
The question came to my mind when a friend of mine which is photographer said that he would try it (even when he’s some privacy advocate) because that would help him in his business. Also other two tech-savy comrades said that they may try it just for fun/curiosity.
And thanks for the reply, I’m not going to use it as well.
Agreed 💯. Didn’t know they were planning to federate.
Fair. A friend of mine which is there said that he would try it because it’s business are there.
Now these are news for me, thanks for the info.
It’s about webrtc, which the support on Firefox is even more poor.
