  • how is pixel with graphene os ? does it completely remove all google spyware shit? or do they have some sort of hardware backdoor?

the reason I ask is because i have a motorola right now and it pisses me off immensely … there is this notification they keep pushing, “Activate Live Lock screen” which i don’t even know what it is, some background pictures crap. I uninstalled this app, but the notification remains. Like it’s not there always but keeps coming back every few days. this has been going on for months and i got so pissed i decided to contact support and complain there. they said, something along the lines of, we can connect remotely and do it for you. ( like disable, but they can’t disable because i went through every option on the phone, it cannot be disabled, it’s just bloatware) but their “we can do it for you remotely” got me thinking, backdoors, backdoors everywhere.

now i want a new phone lol and one that can support a custom firmware but installing custom firmwares on pretty much all phones is a nightmare.

but i also hate buying anything google, hence my question.

  • I never got the appeal of plex. I’ve been using Serviio back in the day and it was free, open source and did what I needed it to, which is play a video on tv, that’s it.

Plex wanted me to purchase subscription years ago and I couldn’t for the life of me figure it out how to set it up for free.

I’ve been using stremio for a few years now but i think it’s closing in on the EOL as well, so i might go back to serviio and kodi one of these days. Just need a good NAS that could run a streaming server as well. Don’t want to keep my gaming rig on at all times just to watch movies.

  • Hot damn, i am also not an economist, I had to read that article 3 times just to grasps what Yanis is trying to say.

So in essence, when Trump and Musk said, brace for recession, it will have to be bad before it gets good, this article confirms it.

Trump wants to devalue the dollar to boost exports and thus strengthen the domestic production?

    This i don’t understand though:

This is what his critics do not understand. They mistakenly think that he thinks that his tariffs will reduce America’s trade deficit on their own. He knows they will not. Their utility comes from their capacity to shock foreign central bankers into reducing domestic interest rates. Consequently, the euro, the yen and the renminbi will soften relative to the dollar. This will cancel out the price hikes of goods imported into the US, and leave the prices American consumers pay unaffected. The tariffed countries will be in effect paying for Trump’s tariffs.

So foreign currencies will also soften relative to the dollar? How can all currencies devalue at the same time? Is he trying to create world wide recession ?

If someone could ELI5 for us, that’d be great.

Another thing I’d like to mention, I respect Yanis a lot but Trump has never given us any indication he indeed thinks and understands economics on this level. Maybe he treats us all as dumbasses and dumbs it down for us but the truth is, he has never spoken in terms that would indicate he understands economy at this level. So he’s either getting muppetered by others or Yanis is giving him too much credit.
