It does, but it’s rather oblique. They’re commenting on how utterly divorced from reality the American political establishment has become.

RFK is absolutely, completely insane. Insane people can say things that are correct sometimes. But overall, his understanding of and stances on public health are largely nonsensical, and in many cases, dangerous in the extreme. RFK does not get a pass here.
And my comment was more aimed at implying some food industry execs will probably give Trump a stack of money in the interest of revoking that order. Or he’ll just revoke it out of spite, because he did that a lot in his first term.
we were healthier when we had less tests and understood less about biology!
I see we’re taking a page out of Russia’s playbook on how they handled HIV/AIDS (stop recording and reporting metrics on it altogether) and applying it writ large. Wcgw.
I bet that gets rolled back in 5 days lol
I mean, trying to regulate technology at the speed of American politics was very obviously a nonsensical and futile proposition from the get-go.
But it doesn’t matter either way because the incoming admin is gonna rip it up and chuck it into a wood chipper within a couple of weeks.
I mean… the obvious solution if this is actually a prevalent pattern for NK troops is to assume they’re bullshitting when they try to surrender, and just don’t take them prisoner.
For real, the “if” in that sentence could reasonably win an Olympic powerlifting competition
Fair point.
At the same time: I have a whole fucking lot of schadenfreude towards the comically idiotic Arab-American voters - particularly the ones in Michigan - who voted for Trump, and are now wringing their hands because they finally did some apres-vote investigation into Trump. Dude banned foreign Muslims from entering the country last time. Did any of those dipshits genuinely think he was gonna mellow out this time around?
Edit: to be clear, I’m not talking about the Michigan Arab-Americans who didn’t vote for a presidential candidate. I’m talking SPECIFICALLY about the ones who voted for Trump.
Yep, pretty much.
It’s getting harder and harder to disagree with that statement
For real though this sounds like an absolutely perfect sort of mission for blimp/zeppelin drones for extended surveillance of suspicious vessels. When are we gonna start doing those?
turns on vpn
I’m in the US Romania
It’s not disheartening. It is infuriating. And it’s also expected. This is the shit my fucking countrymen voted for. Makes me not really want to identify as an American anymore.
Really makes me want to not pay my taxes anymore, considering the trajectory we’re clearly in now.
Hell, they’re turning up to a knife fight with a deck of cards, and the Republicans are bringing fucking Uzis. The DNC is fully a joke at this point. Sure, they suck (marginally) less than the GOP at actually governing, but they couldn’t fight their way out of a paper bag - nor do they appear to be interested in fighting their way out of said paper bag. It’s fucking embarrassing.
Don’t need to push anything, tbh. Nuclear proliferation is back with a vengeance, and it’s because we did fuck-all to back up Ukraine in 2014, and then slow-walked and armchair-general’d the fuck out of them since ‘22. Nobody is ever gonna make a deal like the Budapest Memorandum ever again. It’s demonstrably worth less than the paper it was written on.
Wow so I guess that’ll last all of 6 (or less, since he’s not actually done the thing yet) days
By Grabthar’s hammer… what a savings.
Nah just fly your state flag
