  • I’m not sure that it couldn’t have made a difference. If every Biden voter from 2020 turned out for Harris, it could have swung some states. Enough states? Idk. But yeah, I have to imagine that Gaza was a major contributor to losing most of those votes.

As for everyone else, inflation was a major factor in this election. The current administration has (unfairly) taken the blame for all of it. The average person (even active voters) just doesn’t care to understand how the economy works. They must think the President has a lever in the oval office that controls gas and egg prices and refuses to lower it. They also think the national economy exists in a vacuum independent of the rest of the world instead of being influenced by a global economy beyond the control of any single office or nation. They blame their leadership for a problem that literally the whole world is currently facing. It’s not just a US problem either, as evidenced by election upsets for incumbent administrations across the world. People feel like their leaders have failed and have punished them for it.

  • I don’t care how much propaganda and polished ads you put in front of me. If you can’t see Trump for the sleazeball narcissist conman that he is after a DECADE of near constant televised and tweeted unfiltered rants from this dickhead, along with his actual actions when he was in office before, you are a fucking moron. Period. When the guy himself says “I’m going to commit atrocities” and his propaganda machine says “he meant that metaphorically, or he was joking, or he was saying that just to trigger the libs, or he meant it but not the way it sounds, etc.”, and then the guy says “no I meant exactly what I said. I will commit atrocities. Bad ones!” You can’t go “Well geez, I’m hearing all sorts of conflicting information in the media. Who knows what you can believe? I’ll just assume that he meant whatever is most agreeable to me,” unless you’re a dumbass.

  • Alright, kinda funny. But don’t clap back by meeting him at his level with petty renaming fights. It will just justify his stupidity in his mind and he’ll rush to rename everything else that has Mexico in the name (or any Spanish for that matter) because that’s the kind of 14 year old logic be works on. Then we’ll be renaming cities, counties, and even states in an asinine display of “dominance”. Instead, clap back by calling him a weird ineffectual manchild that wouldn’t know dominance if it was rubbing its testicles across his spray-tanned wrinkled face and watch him squirm as he tries to figure out how to respond and ultimately lands on “No! You!”

  • Even if it didn’t, even if it worked exactly as intended, it doesn’t fix anything. It just moves the problem. Now you’re incentivized to focus on paying down other debts because medical debt doesn’t hurt your credit. Now you’re paying car payments, rent, student loan debt, credit cards, etc. first and medical debt last (if at all). Now hospital prices rocket even higher because even more people aren’t making payments, insurance premiums soar further, and absolutely nothing is fixed. The system is broken and it’s not because of credit scores.

We need to solve medical debt by addressing the source of the problem. Insurance. At minimum we need a public option. Better still, Medicare for all. Medical care should be socialized. Health is not capital. The threat of crippling debt or injury, disease and death without treatment should not be a profit generator for the protection racket that is insurance.

  • He also made cars affordable for the middle class, paid his workers double the standard of the time, and the 1st to implement the 5 day 40 hour work week. And he was so independently hateful of Jews that he published a regular newsletter filled with anti-Jewish hate and conspiracy theories that was so prolific that he is the only American for whom Hitler mentioned positively in Mein Kampf. And by positively, I mean Hitler really admired the guy.

Let’s all remember people can do great things and still be various levels of scum. Geniuses, inventors, innovators, revolutionaries, religious leaders, etc. can all be both influencial paradigm shifting people that ultimately changed the world for the better on the whole and still be a fucking asshole who should not be given the power to further their individual shitty worldviews.

Edit: and obviously none of those positive attributes even apply to the whiny entitled manchild that is Elon Musk.

  • Oh I’m absolutely certain that there was either attempts at fraud or plans for fraud, at minimum. I don’t believe that it proved necessary in the end or changed the overall outcome, unfortunately. But way way way too many election deniers were getting put into positions where they could obstruct, influence or undermine the vote after the last election in preparation to (heavy-ass quotes) “protect the integrity of the 2024 election”, spear-headed by some of the least integrious people in politics, for there not to have been intentions to win by whatever means necessary. We also can’t forget that those people are still there and will absolutely be ready to act as necessary for the next election too

  • There’s a dude that hawks Trump branded shit year round in my area. He has this popup stand with flags, t shirts, hats, and other Trump bullshit. He seems to bounce back and forth between two locations in my town and the next one over, but he does this year round. I know he’s making money. He’s been doing it for years and there’s plenty of idiots flying Trump flags in their yards and on their trucks around here.

I almost wish I didn’t have a sense of shame. I wouldn’t mind making a few bucks off of the literal worse people in the country by selling them stupid cheap knick knacks.
