No nvidia issues in mint for the past two years that I have been using it

I use mint, and it’s easier than on windows… You open driver manager, tap on the newest driver, click apply. Then restart.

For me it was that I don’t want a goddamn spying, AI infested, laggy, ugly, rounded, babysitting win11, so I need to get out of the bill gates ecosystem. And I did, quite easily.

Sounds familiar. I have tried it with many distros and it just isn’t usable. Gave up and ended up liking cinnamon more anyway.

It took a lot of convincing for me to to get a few people to matrix (element) and we used it for a while. Voice chat is down more often than it’s up, and there was an issue with silent group notifications so everyone left. Back to goddamn discord and whatsapp…

An SSD also throttles as it heats up, going as slow as an old HDD. I thought I broke mine when it took an hour to copy 100 gigs of files, but it just slowed down to keep under 60C. Idk how much swapping heats it up though.

Two. The first time I had nvidia related issues with nobara, so I removed nvidia drivers for reinstallation… And couldn’t figure out how to get them back. The second time I had used mint for long enough that I felt confident enough to nuke windows partition. I used gparted and nuked the whole disk instead.

Not counting the times I tried fedora and it killed itself with the first updates and then with multimedia codecs.

Indeed. That was back when I used windows, and I found it quarantined in defender. No idea what kind of spyware I got from it, but I wasn’t hacked and I didn’t lose my moneys.

I have been using 1337x.to for years and it’s listed as #1 option for general purpose torrents in the megathread. I get everything from there, except for music which rutracker is better for.

You should always be careful when downloading stuff though, once I was drunk torrenting and found a movie, but for some reason it wouldn’t play. The next day I noticed it was an exe file…
