People want validations and to believe what they are doing is the right thing. When one side calls them evil, far-right, and racists, naturally they will flock to the other side who are telling them they are heroes who are protecting the country from immigrants.

I agree, but let me steelman their argument a little bit: they aren’t necessarily saying a leftwing person killed Kirk, they could be pointing out how many leftwingers are celebrating Kirk’s death.

And I’ll counter that argument with, it’s not automatically immoral to celebrate some deaths. Like, most people celebrated when Hitler died.

It’s the right who are mongering hate, the left just hates those who are hate-able. It’s not “hate-mongering” to hate Adolf Hitler, or to hate a serial killer, or a dictator, or someone who’s a piece of shit. That’s called being human.

To be a hate-monger, you would have to lie, to manipulate the narrative, and to propagandize with the intention to drive hate. I don’t think the left is doing that.
