Trying to right now. It’s harder to claim asylum or flee than it might seem. It’s expensive and not guaranteed to even work. Our votes were compromised and likely disregarded. I didn’t want Kamala but voted for her anyway and watched as a minority in my country got elevated and selectively amplified. Most of us did NOT vote for any of this and to imply that is woefully naive at best and downright disingenuous at worst. I’m literally working with folks to get ready to flee the fucking country because both my wife and I are trans and disabled and I studied 1918-1945 Europe enough to know what’s happening next.
This is precisely why I, a trans woman married to a disabled trans woman, am making plans and seeking help with getting the hell out. It might be kicking the can down the road but I HAVE to survive.SHE has to survive this. I studied this shit in college when “Never Again” was assumed to be intrinsically correct. I know where this is heading and I’m not sure which is winning out: fear or anger.
