I can’t remember the exact quote from Herman Hesse but it’s something like, “A person cannot conceive a quality in another that they don’t also have within themselves.” The reason so many people question Greta’s motives is because they are inherently selfish and Greta’s altruism is impossible for them to understand. The only reason they’d do anything that appears to be heroic is for their own ego or self serving means.

Me thinks the officer on the guard tower who let him out knew who he was and didn’t like the idea of a police officer being in prison. Seems too likely based on how cops treat each other but maybe I’m just too conspiratorial.

I don’t think gun laws are what’s holding back protesting. This is where the streets were on fire during the Rodney King riots. Unless there’s a video of the most flagrant abuse of power (like the George Floyd murder) then people will continue to sit on their hands like a frog boiling in a pot of water. Sadly what’s happening now doesn’t seem to be enough to mobilize people.
