Is there any possibility this is done just to make it blindingly obvious to the viewer that Breakfast Is Happening™?
Seems like someone grabbing a couple breakfast bars and a canned beverage might plausibly finish the task quickly enough that a viewer may not notice, particularly if it’s not the foreground of the scene.
Or maybe it’s for the same reason anyone coming back from the grocery store will have a paper bag with celery stalks and a baguette poking out the top? No reason other than that it’s the conventional way of demonstrating the trope.
I’m most of the way through season 1 of Castle. It’s pretty entertaining so far, and not just because I’ve liked Nathan Fillion ever since I watched Firefly.
Dungeon grinding in your favorite MMO is a valid way to spend the day….
Provided that by doing so you’re not falling too far behind on life maintenance (laundry, grocery shopping, etc).
This would totally be Brick from The Middle
One of the weirder experiences in my life was taking a ghost tour in a haunted mansion and having this album spontaneously play in my head.
I finished Doctor Odyssey and am looking forward to the next batch of episodes that are supposed to start in March.
I’ve started High Potential and am enjoying it so far. It’s not high art like The Wire, but it’s entertaining and the protagonist has some similarities to Sherlock Holmes.
I watched that show and it was very entertaining. The narrative reaches a fitting conclusion that makes sense within the show’s universe. There is apparently another novel with this same detective as a major character, so there may be potential for a season 2.
She was also pretty good in The Penguin
Roy Kent as Hagrid would be funny as fuck.
Not sure that I’m interested in watching the series though. I got burned out on reading HP fanfiction after eight or so years, and the fandom (canon included) no longer really does anything for me.
I watched all 8 episodes of Doctor Odyssey.
It was worth my time watching, and I’m looking forward to more episodes coming out early next year.
I’ve also watched the first two episodes of The Franchise. It’s intriguing so far, because I’m often interested in behind the scenes shots and would love to someday get to experience being on set.
Makes me think of the “My name’s Buck and I’m here to fuck” scene in Kill Bill.
I wonder if we’ll get another random one-off bit like Jackie Daytona, regular human bartender.
Very excited indeed! Finished a rewatch of 1-5 a couple weeks ago in anticipation.
Yes, it crashed Voyager for me almost instantly.
I agree on both counts
Country Cathy?
I disabled my account four years ago when I realized how much plague stupidity and election stupidity on there was harming my mental health.
I doubt I will ever formally delete my account, as it’s the only source for pictures of some now-deceased family members. If hell freezes over and there’s a legit unavoidable need for me to be on there, I’m using desktop+web browser only, and probably in a browser that only gets used for the monthly visit to FB.
Any idea what the other major destinations were beyond Lemmy?
A big reason why I’m glad that I’m no longer in IT is that I don’t have to be in an on-call rotation any longer.
If the job offers to pay for your cell phone, it’s because they will expect you to answer at 2am.
