As long as the Dems keep glossing over the worsening K-shaped economy, and talking past the pain that the majority of middle-America is feeling - they’re going to continue to lose the working class to apathy and the GOP.
It doesn’t matter if wages nationally ‘went up” $1b, if it all went to like 3 people, and everyone else’s wages stagnated or went down.

Honestly, with the way things are going - Canada could very benefit from the entire Pacific coast seceding, along with New England, Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota.

While I mostly agree with your line of thinking, I do feel the urge to point out that most of the value of property is tied to the land underneath the structure, rather than the building itself.
This is largely why one of those Sears catalogue 2-3 bedroom post-war homes is worth significantly more than a similar footprint modern apartment/townhouse a few doors down.
The houses themselves are often seen as a depreciating asset; and for the more unscrupulous land-bankers, these fires just became free demolition.
I guess what I’m saying is, shit’s even more fucked than you thought… and until we get rid of milquetoast liberal politicians and replace them with actual populist progressives globally, it will only continue to get worse.
I’m sure there would be a few, surely? Multi-million dollar lottery win; finding an old USB key with a bunch of bitcoin; discovering an oil/gas reserve on your property; finding a suspicious unattended briefcase filled with unmarked bills; an unexpected inheritance from a previously unknown great-aunt, provided you spend a night in her haunted manor…

Because their destination was within the Russian federation? The more egregious act was denying them the ability to perform an emergency landing on Russian soil, forcing them to fly over the Caspian Sea all while jamming their ability to access GPS .
He gets this much coverage because for better or worse, he now owns the Internet’s equivalent of the Town Square.
Every dumb-ass decision, stupid-ass contradiction, and dead-ass brain-fart are exponentially amplified as a result.
Every one of his fanboys are the true definition of SIMPs; suckers idolising mediocre personalities.

I do recommend watching the video, it’s a lot more egregious than you might think.
Say that you’re watching an LTT video, and they say that they have a sponsored affiliate link in the description for a product you want to buy.
By clicking that link, you’re basically saying “Thanks, LTT! I hope you get commission off this sale for me, for bringing it to my attention”. Otherwise, you could just go to the site directly, and bring up the product without any affiliate link backs.
So you’ve click on the link, your browser opens up and takes you to the store page with an LTT affiliate link cookie set.
ANY interaction with the Honey pop-up (even clicking ‘Got It!’ when it says that there are no coupons available) will overwrite the cookie to PayPal (Honey’s parent company).
Additionally, Honey works in conjunction with stores to only show certain permitted coupons, even if end users submit better ones. e.g. it might only show HONEY5 for a 5% discount, while there might be a valid BLACKFRIDAY20 coupon code available that aggregation sites show.
There’s also meant to be a Part 2 to this coming out soon, I believe? So there’s probably even more to this story than we know so far.

This is why I’m quite pessimistic about GTA6; it’s been 11 years since GTA5 was first released on the PS3 and Xbox360! A lot of people forget that an entire console generation passed without a new entry into the franchise.
The median turnover at games companies is significantly lower than 11 years, and even Dan Howser and Lazlow Jones have left Rockstar in the interim.
The likelihood that it will live up to player expectations, given how heavily Take2 have milked the hell out of Online via Shark Cards, is woefully low.
But I guess that’s the good part of being a pessimist; you’re either proven correct - or pleasantly surprised!
In general yes; but Romney is probably one of only a handful of GOP politicians who could work with the Dems and not get primaried out.

i.e. the rich are getting so much wealthier, that when looking at the overall average the number is trending positively and not showing that the rest of society is getting poorer. This is one of the reasons when using aggregate measures, the median value is significantly more valuable than the average.

It basically happens every cycle, easy to go back all the way to George Bush Sr -> Clinton ( if not earlier).
But the problem is, the current economic boom is even more K-shaped than any other in recent history; half of the population are struggling worse than before, but their plight is masked by an incredible boom for the other half.
I can’t blame the working class for thinking back to ~2016, and remembering things fondly.
Trump will only make the current situation worse, but I can at least understand how the US ended up in its current predicament.
The GOP will just think of something snide to call it, Berniecare at best - CommieCare if they’re feeling spicy.
This is the same group of people who refused to call it the Democratic Party for so long, that “Democrat Party” (emphasis on the rat) has basically been normalised.
It’s funny in a way, seeing as how Gabe Newell was at Microsoft from ~’83 until ‘96, working on the early versions of Windows.
Makes sense though - to see what subsequent teams have done to your original project, and feel the need to ‘right those wrongs’.
