  • Let’s see- passed the ACA which wasn’t great but did so with the bare majority they had. IRA during Biden which passed by the skin of its teeth. Of course DoJ should’ve done way more, etc. but that, forgiving as much student loans as Biden could, IRA was the biggest climate bill ever, etc.

Sure- it wasn’t perfect but I don’t think they “squandered” it at all.

But hey- it obviously wasn’t enough so it was only right to not vote in LOCAL primaries, etc. and not vote in the general election for Democrats so the Republicans could take yet another wrecking ball to everything. SURELY the goals of liberals and progressives are much closer now that Republicans have power again.

  • To bolster your point, a true progressive ran in 2018 in west Virginia- Paula Swearengin. She challenged Joe Manchin in the primary and lost 70-30.

She then won the Democratic primary in 2020 for Senate and went on to lose in the general 70/27 (other votes to the libertarian.)

People really need to understand that while Zohran and AOC are great there isn’t some kind of silver bullet with progressivism across the country.

  • This is actually kind of tame by Kent’s standards.

It’s a shame honestly. He seems smart but he doesn’t seem to realize that the linux kernel is not just for his “customers.” It’s literally for everyone. He seems to think he can make whatever changes and it’ll be fine (perhaps it will be) but doesn’t understand that the people using bcachefs are a tiny, tiny, tiny portion of overall Linux users who need stability in the kernel.

That and anyone using bcachefs 1) probably shouldn’t be holding so much data on it given how it changes and 2) should be able to build a kernel with the patches if needed because it’s experimental and…if you’re doing that you should know what you’re doing.
