I just use Ironfox (Firefox) myself. That way Topics is available.

The only downside for me is not being able to quickly post a comment with an image. Have to go offsite for that to get a link. When I tried Voyager I didn’t have to do that tedious process.

Any app that supports topics?

I’ve never used Connect, so I can’t provide a direct comparison. I most often use piefed as a PWA.

Honestly just the webpages themselves offers the absolute best experience, especially with the API still being made and refined. But Voyager is also an extremely popular choice. There is also a Thunder beta version but it has not made its way into the official one (at least as of yesterday in the Play Store, I don’t know about the App Store on iOS).

I don’t see this mentioned very often but Mlem is such a good app for lemmy and piefed both. I think it’s iOS only though.
