    Denmark has some racism issues but what is the solution here? Make book burning illegal? Give religious texts extra legal protection? As someone who is from a country that gives religions extra protection, i do not want that.

    In 2003, there was an art exhibition in Greece that had a painting that showed a penis ejaculating on a cross. The christians here lost their shit. And eventually the ministry of Culture removed the painting from the exhibition because of the “religious fervor that could lead to destruction of art, considering the threats received”. The director of the exhibition said “it isnt censorship or self censorship, if it is about protecting the art and the exhibition”. The artist agreed with the removal, saying that he doesnt want to cause issues.

    The Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Dimitris Linos, after the indictment he received from the president of LAOS(far right party) Giorgos Karatzaferis regarding the painting, ordered the head of the Athens First Instance Prosecutor’s Office, Dim. Papagelopoulos to carry out a preliminary examination on whether “the artistic creation in question and its public display offended morals and religious sentiment”.

    Do you think this was the correct reaction? Do you want other European countries to react the same when it comes to Quran burning? Because in my opinion this is backwards and embarrassing behaviour.

      Under Danish law, if I make a happening for the purpose of making the local stamp collectors association, or anyone lose their collective cool and attack me, I will be dragged away and fined for disturbing the peace.

      I really see no reason why stamp collectors should be differently protected than Muslims.

      I would agree, however, that both stamp collectors and Muslims should be required to keep their cool, and that we should not enjoy any such protections against mere insult.

      On the other hand this guy does his best to shove the burning stamps up the noses of the collectors, …

      And authorities in Muslim countries abuse this to divert attention from their own abuses.

      So yeah, I don’t know, it’s complicated.
