ahh yeah i thought i had rosacea (that sulfur based prosacea works well on me) but mine was only triggered by solanins that’s how I worked out that mine was nightshade intolerance. Same diff if you have to avoid the spice as it’s all nightshades. The sumac has an acidic bite and it’s red so i’m pumped about it!

VioletSoftness@piefed.blahaj.zoneto Cooking @lemmy.world•[QUESTION SOLVED] can i use ayran as a subtitution for buttermilk?English2·24 hours agobuttermilk is used for two main things in recipes both caused by lactic acid. In pancakes and baked goods you’re looking for the reaction with baking soda or baking powder that gives a bubbly, fluffy lift.
In something like ranch dressing it’s the tangy zip of the lactic acid. Kefir is a 1:1 substitute for buttermilk here because of its similar acidic tang so if your ayran has a similar tanginess it ought to work quite well in a ranch sauce!

oh you probably have a nightshade intolerance yeah? solanin! It’s in everthing good i swear i deal with the same issue. I just learned about ground sumac in the taco meat substitute instead of chiles i’m pumped to try it!
your steaming apparatus sounds very clever!
the mexican restaurants where i live steam the tortillas and it makes them extra pliable for wrapping. Works with the store bought tortillas if you put a wire baking rack on a big saucepan on the stove and boil a little water with a bit of foil or large lid on top of the tortilla

The point is to make the poor suffer, you can tell because it’s targeted at the poor. They want people to be miserable if they are poor so they can force them into shitty jobs with shitty conditions at shitty wages and extract more value from them.
if they really cared about the people they would raise the minimum wage and increase the social safety net and help people get good jobs. notice that they are doing the opposite of these things.

these look great and I love both the form factor and your storage!!
I just tried to make some 3 ingredient bars but the recipe was not great; 6-7 medium bananas is soo subjective i should have found one with weights.
on my next attempt i’m going to use the muffin tins and do some mixins! thank you for sharing
definitely not the same, having done it both ways. and neither of these ways is as effective as the tortilla steamer press the restaurants use.
